EuChemS took part in the Joint Research Centre (JRC) Open Day in Geel on Sunday, 5 October 2025. The event, held at one of the six sites of the European Commission’s JRC, welcomed the public to explore how independent, evidence-based science supports EU policies that enhance safety, health, security, and prosperity across Europe.
During the Open Day, visitors toured EU laboratories, participated in hands-on experiments, and discovered how research at the JRC informs policies that shape the daily lives of Europeans. A range of guided tours showcased the site’s diverse scientific activities and their impact on European decision-making.
By engaging with JRC scientists, EuChemS explored the essential link between research, policy, and society. The event underscored the importance of transparent, evidence-based science in building trust and ensuring that European policies are grounded in reliable knowledge.
