The meeting was co-chaired by Marieke Schouten, Member of the European Committee of the Regions, and Veronica Manfredi, Director for Zero Pollution, Water Resilience & Green Urban Transition at DG Environment of the European Commission.
The central focus of the meeting was the mid-term review of the EU Zero Pollution Action Plan. Discussions were complemented by a forward-looking exchange on the upcoming PFAS dialogue, as well as reflections on the future direction of the Zero Pollution Stakeholder Platform and the Zero Pollution Forum.
EuChemS has been an active stakeholder of the Zero Pollution Stakeholder Platform since its establishment in 2021 by the European Commission, contributing scientific expertise and supporting evidence-based policymaking towards the EU’s zero pollution ambitions.
