ACS honours EuChemS Division Chair with prestigious award

EuChemS Division of Chemical Education Chair Rachel Mamlok-Naaman was awarded the American Chemical Society (ACS) Award for Encouraging Women into Careers in the Chemical Sciences.

On 27 August, the ACS journal Chemistry & Engineering published the names of the 2025 ACS National Award winners – EuChemS Division Chair Rachel Mamlok-Naaman amongst them, as the recipient of the Award for Encouraging Women into Careers in the Chemical Sciences. This award, sponsored by the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, is given since 1993.

Rachel Mamlok-Naaman received this honour in recognition of her accomplishments in stimulating and fostering the interests of women in chemistry and promoting their professional developments as chemists or chemical engineers – including her activities as the Chair of the EuChemS Division of Chemical Education. Alongside being a Division Chair, she is a faculty member of Department of Science Teaching at the Weizmann Institute of Science, and a member of the Israeli Chemical Society.

The award will be presented to Rachel Mamlok-Naaman at the 2025 ACS Spring meeting in San Diego. In addition to receiving this honour, she is also expected to hold a session at this event.
