On 10 February 2026, EuChemS successfully hosted the Global Women’s Breakfast 2026, bringing together chemists from across Europe to celebrate the strategic role of women in shaping responsible, ethical and socially conscious chemistry. The event was framed within the IUPAC GWB initiative “Many Voices, One Science” and focused on communication, collaboration and interdisciplinary convergence as key drivers of responsible chemistry.
The session was hosted by EuChemS President Angela Agostiano and moderated by Wolfram Koch. Speakers included leading voices from academia and scientific organisations – Cristina Femoni, Nineta Hrastelj, Silvija Markic, Javier García Martínez, Anne Pawsey and Andrea Usenik – who shared insights on the contributions of women scientists and the importance of inclusive networks in advancing science.
Participants highlighted examples of leadership, progress toward gender equity in chemistry, and the value of collaborative scientific communities. The event blended inspiration with reflection on how women across disciplines continue to influence the future of chemistry in Europe
