Chiara Capodacqua,

EuChemS is pleased to announce that it will host its next Global Women’s Breakfast on 10 February 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30 CET (Brussels time). This online event forms part of the worldwide IUPAC initiative bringing together chemists to support gender equity, foster connections, and strengthen the global chemistry community.

The 2026 edition will focus on the theme “Shaping responsible chemistry: The strategic role of women in Europe.” The webinar will highlight the essential contributions of women scientists to advancing responsible, ethical, and socially conscious chemistry across the continent. From integrating green and sustainable practices into research to driving openness, collaboration, and high-impact communication, women continue to shape a more thoughtful and resilient future for the discipline.

Throughout history, women in chemistry have played a pivotal role in building bridges, across disciplines, across institutions, and across borders. Their ability to connect scientific insights with societal needs, cultivate collaborative networks, and foster knowledge exchange lies at the heart of the Global Women’s Breakfast mission: empowering the chemistry community through meaningful and inclusive engagement.

Inspired by the spirit of IUPAC GWB 2026 – Many Voices, One Science, this year’s event will reflect the Guiding Principles of Responsible Chemistry, with a particular emphasis on two areas central to EuChemS’ vision: Communication and collaboration, and Convergence across disciplines.

These themes underscore Europe’s strong contribution to global responsible chemistry and reinforce the importance of building diverse, connected scientific communities.

EuChemS warmly invites chemists, researchers, students, and professionals from across Europe and beyond to join this inspiring discussion celebrating the impact and leadership of women shaping the future of chemistry.
