EuChemS @ACS Spring 2023

ACS Spring 2023, the American Chemical Society’s (ACS) major scientific conference was held in Indianapolis, IN, from 26 to 30 March. EuChemS was invited to attend and to participate in a number of events. While EuChemS was a regular guest at previous ACS events, this was the first in-person attendance of an EuChemS delegation overseas since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Critical Raw Materials Act discussed in European Parliament

On 16 March, the European Commission made a proposal on Critical Raw Materials (CRM) concerning the EU’s secure access to them, which, on 28 March, was discussed by the the members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton. CRM are also relevant for EuChemS, as the EuChemS Periodic Table workshop series examines many of them in-depth.
