The foundation of the EuChemS Division of Glycoscience was endorsed by the General Assembly in October 2023 at its meeting in Cyprus. Since then, our glycoscience colleagues, Aisling Ní Cheallaigh (currently acting as interim Chair and Web Editor of the division) and Rachel Hevey (currently acting as interim Secretary of the division) are hard at work establishing the Professional Network. In early February, we witnessed the first results of this process: the public facing webpages of the Division of Glycoscience were made available on the EuChemS website. Visitors can learn about the mission of the division, explore international organisations related to glycoscience, as well as relevant events.
The division also welcomes nominations by EuChemS Member Societies. The division aims for a diverse set of delegates, balanced in terms of gender, and from a wide range of geographic locations and scientific disciplines. Nominations shall be made via the EuChemS form. In addition, on the division’s governance page info on its interim leadership and numerous task groups can be found.
We are delighted to welcome our glycoscience colleagues, and looking forward to receiving delegate nominations to further international chemistry collaborations.
