2024 EuChemS Annual Meetings

The 2024 EuChemS General Assembly included a Business Session where key decisions were made, including the election of three new Executive Board members. The following day, the Open Session reviewed EuChemS' achievements and activities. The event also highlighted strengthened collaborations within the Professional Networks, setting the stage for future initiatives.

The 2024 EuChemS General Assembly (GA) was held in Berlin from 23 to 25 October, hosted by the German Chemical Society and Wiley.

On Thursday, 24 October, the Business Session took place, open to EuChemS Members with voting rights. Chaired by EuChemS President Angela Agostiano, the session focused on key matters, including membership applications and proposals for two new Member Societies. Three new members – Tom Kinzel, Renata Orinakova, and Jeroen Cornelissen – were elected to the EuChemS Executive Board. The following morning, the General Assembly’s Open Session gathered EuChemS Member Societies, Supporting Members, Executive Board Members, and Board Members of the Professional Networks to review the organization’s activities over the past year. This session provided a platform for discussion and reflection on EuChemS’ impact within the global chemistry community.

The 2024 EuChemS Annual Meetings concluded with the Professional Networks meeting on Friday afternoon. Representatives from Divisions, Working Parties, and the European Young Chemists’ Network (EYCN) discussed their ongoing initiatives, focusing on strengthening collaborations and planning future scientific events and cross-network partnerships.

EuChemS expressed gratitude to all participants for their engagement during the General Assembly and Professional Networks meeting.
