Towards the end of 2022, EuChemS Vice President (at the time, President) Floris Rutjes wrote the last Editorial of the Chemistry in Europe Newsletter. In it, he welcomed a new, visually up to date and attractive publication, directly associated with the EuChemS Brand, inviting all readers to subscribe to it. Soon after, on 1 January 2023, EuChemS Magazine was launched to bring policy, research and community perspectives on chemistry to our readers in Europe and beyond.

One year has passed since, and the fact that you are reading this article means that the story of EuChemS Magazine proved to be a successful one. More than 13.000 visitors clicked on one of the 157 published articles or on the front page of the Magazine. In addition, almost 2000 people subscribed to our monthly emails to remain up to date with the latest developments in European Chemistry – and we are delighted to invite you as well: don’t miss out!

The 3 most read articles of the last year illustrate the topical versatility of the Magazine, and the geographical diversity of their authors proudly show the wide horizons of the European Chemistry Community. So, without further ado, the most read articles last year were

“60 years of analytical chemistry at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki,Greece”

“Antwerp to host ECC10”

“Standing for science in the era of social media and fake news”

We hope that this first year is only the beginning of the success story of EuChemS Magazine. For now, we are happy to invite you to join us in wishing a happy first birthday to EuChemS Magazine. We hope that we will continue to have you, and many more amongst our readers.
